| Arabians are an ancient breed that originated in the Middle East. They were bred by the Bedouins to have speed, stamina, and loyalty. Arabians have been bred with other types of horses to improve those breeds. These beautiful horses have a dished face (where the nose dips in between the forehead and muzzle), arched neck, short cannon bones and back, powerful hindquarters, and a high-set tail. They are smaller horses, around 14-15.2 hands high. There are three types of Arabians. The Kuhaylan is known for its strength and stamina, the Saqlawi is gentle and finely built, and the Muniqi are fast with an angular build. Arabians can be used for many disciplines, including endurance riding, western, and dressage. Many people consider Arabians the perfect horse.
