Commitment Policy
The purpose for our club commitment is to have strong
members in our club.  The purpose for 4-H is to build
up leadership skills and to make a difference in our
community, our country and our world.  When we all
work together, a lot can happen.  When we don't all
work together, frustrations from within the group can
hamper our success rate as a group.

Barrels and Trails is a working club.  We believe as a
group that we have responsibilities in claiming the
4-H title.  Each year we are committed to a community
service project.  We are also committed to making this
club successful through fundraisers.  And we believe
while doing this we should be having fun such as
having field trips and parties.

In order to maintain that each person that chooses to
be a member follow the club's guidelines, the members
of this club will be required to  follow these chosen
commitments:

1. In order to be a member of this club, top priority
shall be given to attending all regular meetings,
which are held the first Monday of each month, at 7:00
at Melinda's  house.(On occasion when the
meetings are changed, club members will be made
aware.)  If you are unable to make a meeting, a phone
call will be made to one of the leaders, with an
explanation as to why you will be unable to attend. It
will also be expected if you miss a meeting that you
make a phone call to find out what you have missed.
If no phone call is made, your absence will be
considered unexcused.  Because we are a working club,
we realize that the type of people that will be drawn
to this club are active, involved people.  We will not
hold any member accountable for a missed meeting as
long as the reason for missing a meeting is due to
other activities of involvement.  Sickness will also
be excused.
2. Our fund raisers benefit each member of the club.
Therefore we expect each member to help in some way
for each one.  If you are not able to make a date of a
fund raiser, there are usually preparations before
that day that needs attention.  There will be
exceptions to club members not being able to
participate, and those exceptions will be honored.
3. In order to be a participant of our field trips and
parties, it is expected that the members coming to our
organized fun trips have a good attendance record and
work record.
4. A good deal of pre-arrangement and work are put in
to our spring and summer horse practices.  Although
not everyone chooses to show their horse at fair, this
is a horse-project club.  Therefore, the club's
expectations are that each member attend at least one
of these practices where a guest speaker/teacher is
present working with our club as a group.
5. If you are showing your horse at fair, consider
practices mandatory.  If you have a complication with
the time or date, or horse transportation, you must
discuss it with the leaders and a plan must be made,
or you will not be allowed to show at fair.
6. The 4-H Leaders' Committee assigns each club an
amount of work that must be done each fair season
according to the size of that club.  Your membership
directly affects how much work this club is given to
do.  Therefore, when the work assigned to our club is
passed out, you as a member must consider your amount
and willingly do your part to fulfill our club's
obligation.
7. As a member of "Barrels and Trails" you may be
required to be more committed than in other clubs.  We
believe by our strong commitment policy we will reach
the goals we set out to achieve.  We will make a
difference to our community, our country, and our
world, and mostly       to our own development as
great future leaders.

By signing below, I agree to commit myself to these
club standards and agree with each one.
