Part of White Pines is it's well-known lesson and training program. Lessons can be done with one of your own horses or on one of White Pine's very well trained school-horses. These horses are trained to let you know when your seat, leg, or hand is positioned incorrectly. They will also let you know when you ask them to do something improperly. The training program is for both horse and rider. The program starts with White Pine's Instructor/Trainer (Shirley) riding and when the horse is ready, Shirley will introduce the horse's owner. White Pine's does NOT believe in Push Button horses. It believes in establishing a relationship between horse and rider in order to get the best results. That is why the training program MUST include the owner in its training.
Training is for both English and Western and includes Halter, Showmanship, Equtation, Training for all in hand classes, Starting under saddle, Ground Manners, Training for all Olympic and Western events. Training is for all ages. Foals in training will start with handling and halter. Lessons will then progress to leading and turnout. All horses in training programs will include ground manners and relationship building with the owner. Prices vary depending on age and prior training.
Versatility is of paramount importance, we believe. To this end, we are happy to introduce our new Driving program. Lessons are available for the first time driver with our capable schoolers. Whether you want to brush up on your dressage for the upcoming Combined driving, or develop better skills for navigating marathons hazards, our instructor and trainer, Katalyce can help. We also offer training to begin your 3yo (or older) horse driving for the first time. Katalyce practices resistance-free training in order to get the most from your horse with the least amount of effort and conflict.
Prices may vary. Base program is 150 per month per non-boarding horse. If boarding, add 80 to your board.
Problems and errors in training or Problem horses:
White Pines believes that all "problem horses" stem from a problem rider or trainer in the horses past somewhere; therefore, training always starts with finding a "why". The training will then progress to building trust between horse and trainer, then horse and owner. The problem will then become easier to solve. Prices vary depending on the severity of the problem.
