| Q:I rode a horse who is green over fences. He rushes into fences and that causes him to overshoot the fences. can you help me? A: set up a fence at "B" no more then 2.4'. start trotting at "A" on the right rein. along the long side(opposite to the fence)balance your horse, doing half halts and collect the reins. on the short side("C") look towards your fence. if you feel your horse tence up and "rush" do another half halt before youturn towards your fence. straighten the horse and be sure hes balanced. as your horse leaves the ground, go into jumping position. put your leg on but DO NOT squeeze him that may be why hes rushing. loosing the rein a little and just let him jump |
