The angels of Willowmere Stables

Sammy - Thoroughbred Gelding'96

Currently Sammy is working in dressage with intermediate and advanced riders. His strong points are in: long line exercises; down transitions and square halts. These strengths will help develop his canter, and cavalletti work over this winter. Future goals are to have Sammy working on small fences, simple changes and training level dressage in the following years.
Special Notes
  • Sammy has worked well in D-ring, snaffle, and full check bits.
  • He prefers cotton pads with light to medium padding.
  • Sammy has been worked in all-purpose and dressage saddles.
  • On a regular bases he gets trimmed and mane pulled.
  • Sammy likes nylon girths, but prefers leather equipment.
  • Rio - Pony of America(POA) Gelding'92

Rio is a great pony for the intermediate and beginner rider. Everyone loves to ride him in all disciplines. Last summer he was completing 2'3" courses with his rider. Rio is also a great dressage horse because of his lateral movements and lengthening trot. This combination makes Rio a great eventing pony. A great family horse!

    Strique - Arabian Gelding '79

Strique has been shown: halter, saddle seat, western, hunters, jumpers, and dressage. His high achievements are: receiving the Oregon Futurity Award for his breed; competing in halter, & saddle seat championships; showing up to second level dressage successfully. He is a great school horse for all riders. He was donated to the OSU International Horse Show Association (IHSA) Team to use at their show in 2000. All his riders received ribbons in western, jumping, and dressage. Strique is a great pasture mate to all the angels of Willowmere Stables.
