| It is said that when the Horrorland Hotel was first built, a kind, but strange employee who was known as, "Louie the Bellboy", was often very cheerful to guests, even when things seemed to be going badly. He would often smile a little too much, or volunteer to do more work around the hotel. "I still to this day don't know what happened to him. But it's a shame to know that he's probably already passed away. After all, it's been 43 years", says ex-hotel owner, Martha Ketner. "Louie.. Louie.. oh yes! Splendid boy, but what became of him? " asks ex front desk clerk, Frank Lindenmeyer. "Yes I used to see him everyday with a bright grin on his face, greeting all the guests as if they were family. But one day, he was gone. Never heard from again. We did our usual routine that day, he did his routine of carrying the luggage back and forth to each room. We all went back to our rooms and the next morning, nobody knew where he was. I remember his room was on the 12th floor, right below mine. Well, if he happens to be alive, I can bet he's happy. If not, he might still be there, somewhere in the Horrorland Hotel." As for the employees' opinions on the disapperance of 'Louie the Bellboy', other guests remain silent about what they have experienced during their stay. "It was a cold night in December, 1984, that I remember walking down the hall to my room and hearing somebody behind me say, 'May I take your bags?' When I turned around, no one was there. Right after I left the hotel the next day, I heard a few of my friends talking about Louise. I never told them what happened to me. I never told anyone except for now." explains Sarah Baker. As for other experiences dealing with Louie, others have decided to keep it to themselves. "There have been much more experiences with ghosts in this hotel than people think. The employees have had their share, especially. I think [we] choose not to talk about it for the sake of scaring off guests." says an employee of the hotel. "We'll see what becomes of Louie in the future. I think he's most likely still in the hotel, some days just walking around, other times just wanting to do his job all over again. I think he was the happiest he could have ever been at the Horrorland Hotel. I think he made it his home." |
