In mid September of 1964, 5 people boarded the elevator located in the lobby that sits opposite of the ballroom. Without any warning, Leslie-Ann Barber, Marilyn Warner, Eddie Towne, Joey Salsman, and Bonnie Viking, experienced something so horrible, so tragic, employees said it troubles them to talk about it.

At approximately 10:19 pm, on September 19th, 1964, an elevator in the main lobby shook and rattled so fiercely, the cords snapped lose, and plunged 13 stories down between the Horrorland Hotel floors. When it reached the bottom, it dinged open, and no bodies were to be found.

It wasn't until 1969 that the elevator was chcked for later inspection on any cords that happened to be damaged or loose, after experiencing a few more technical problems. Nothing dangerous within the elevator was to be found. In fact, no elevator in the Horrorland Hotel seemed too dangerous to ride. It continued it's operation - taking people from floor to floor without any problems from any guests.

"I had heard shrieking on the night of September 18th. I wasn't sure where it was coming from, but I knew that it came from an elevator. I assumed it was that elevator because it was the only one being used at the time. Where their bodies went, I don't know."
explains a former maid.

For now, we will continue to let the "haunted elevator" take it's passengers on their way. But there will be future occurrences there... sooner or later.
