Twinkle, twinkle little star,
How I wonder what you are!
Up above the world so high,
Like a diamond in the sky.

When the blazing sun is gone,
When he nothing shines upon,
Then you show your little light,
Twinkle, twinkle, all the night.

Then the traveller in the dark,
Thanks you for your tiny spark,
He could not see which way to go,
If you did not twinkle so.

In the dark blue sky you keep,
and often though my curtins peep,
For you never shut your eye,
Till the sun is in the sky.

As your bright and tiny spark,
Lights the traveller in the dark -
Thought I know not what you are,
Twinkle, twinkle, little star.
Star light, star bright,
First star I've seen tonight,
Wish I may, wish I might,
Have this wish I wish tonight.
Thirty days has September,
April, June and November.
All the rest have thirty-one,
Excepting February alone,
Which has four and twenty-four
Till leap-year gives it one more.
A was a Acher, who shot at a frog.
B was a Butcher, who kept a bull-dog.
C was a Captain, all covered with lace.
D was a Drummer, who played with much grace.
E was an Esquire, with pride on his brow.
F was a Farmer, who followed the plough.
G was a Gamester, who had but ill-luck.
H was a Hunter and hunted a buck.
I was an Italian, who had a white mouse.
J was a Joiner, and built up a house.
K was a King, so might and grand.
l was a Lady, who had a white hand.
M was a Miser, who hoarded up gold.
N was a Nobleman, gallant and bold.
O was an Organ boy, who played about town.
P was a Parson, who wore a black gown.
Q was a Queen, who was fond of her people.
R was a Robin, who was perched on a steeple.
S was a Sailor, who spent all he got.
T was a Tinker, who mended a pot.
U was a Usher, who loved little boys.
V was a Veteran, who sold pretty toys.
W was a Watchman, who guarded the door.
X was eXpensive, and so became poor.
Y was a Youth, who did not love school.
Z was a Zany, who looked a great fool.
