The Family Backbone

When walls have crumbled
And on the stones you fumbled
I stood by the rubble amongst your trouble

There were many a foe greater
But our bonds they could not better
I held you in the darkest night and brought you to the light

And in blindness when you can see
Not even the faintest flicker of me
I'll hold your hand so you will understand

When your wings spread wide
I flew by your side
I let out a sigh and bade the winds not to die

When troubles were gone
I let you carry on
Towards bliss and unconditional happiness

When the time arrives
That I know longer survive
Remember this heart that loved you from the start
