She Smiled
I saw an elderly couple getting off the bus
While people made a fuss
She attempted to descend the stairs
Uncapable, she shied away well aware
All the while she smiled
Valiantly he slowly moved past her
For he too had trouble going down for sure
He held out a frail and comforting hand
And she took this loving gesture with pleasure from her man
All the while she smiled
It was an awesome sight to see
Their love, still strong and youthful in aged bodies
Holding hands as they were going
Knowing it was still growing
And all the while I smiled
