| A lovely Swiss lake at the base of Mt. Rigi near
Luzern.

This memorial
is in Lucerne, and commemorates the sacrifice of the Swiss Guards who
gave their lives to defend Marie Antoinette, the youngest daughter of
Empress Maria Theresa, from the mobs during the French revolution. |
And what kind
of cows live on a Swiss mountainside? Why Brown Swiss, of course. |
| A picture of Switzerland from the top of the mountain. We are in the Lucerne area, and took a cog-wheel train to the top of the mountain. We took a cable-car down. The air was indeed rarified! I mean, it's so beautiful and perfect, it doesn't look real, does it?

A night's
entertainment with dining on fondue, watching dancers, and listening to
yodeling and music. |
On the shores
of Lake Luzern, a snazzily dressed frog keeps a watch. For some reason,
Europeans like to have these fiberglass figures (made in the USA) in
their public spaces. In Germany, it was cows. In Switzerland, frogs. I
am clueless. |
