»in short admin: sel ambre established: september seventeenth, 2005 opened to public: september thirtieth, 2005 definition: an intermediate-advanced role-play game based on horses, humans, a touch of fantasy, and rural nineteenth-century english village life. the board is located on the ezboard network. setting: Acheten is set in a 'make-believe' place very similar to england's cotswold region. Acheten is a valley surrounded on all sides by mountains, except for one opening on the southeastern side. because Acheten's setting is not a real place, it is not set in a real time, either. however, technological advances include buildings made from stone, thatched roofs, gas lamps, and typewriters. they have advanced very far in some areas, but very little in others. setup: there are three groups within Acheten: the lihen, the csrinn, and the wrigyn. the lihen are humans, and they live in the village that is the rpg's namesake. they trade with the csrinn, a tribe of strange people that live just outside the village. the csrinn are also humans, but every human has a mental connection with a horse from birth, and they ride the horse more than walk. they do not have to speak to communicate with it, and have other, more complex connections also. lastly, the wrigyn are a herd of unusually intelligent and beautiful horses that seem to float rather than move. they are graceful, proud, and extremely dangerous if angered. they occupy the ring of hills, forests, and moors that surround Acheten. |
