I am Native American on my mother's side (musicians and artists all the way back). I am a member of the Blue Ridge Band of Amonsoquath (Tribe of Cherokee) in Virginia. Now on my father's side I am German and English (preachers and teachers all the way back). What is interesting is that I am an Instructional Assistant and I work with children every day and I love it, and of course I'm an artist/web designer/graphics creator/photographer. It definitely must be hereditary, because I've taken after both parents.
The Picture to the left is Cyrus Anderson Stinnett 1858-1932 and Nancy Mollie Liptrap 1857-1900. The parents of my great grandmother Dora L. Stinnett 1892-1937 who was Native American (pictured in the middle left) with her husband Floyd H. Smith 1879-1929. That is my grandfather Harlen C. Smith sitting on her lap. The next picture is Dora Stinnett and her sister (middle right). The picture on the far right is my grandparents Harland C. Smith 1917-1992 and Virginia I. Rhodes 1922-1997.

Most all Native Americans in Virginia hid their identity, or said that they were Italian, or Greek. Because of the laws in Virginia at that time, you would be kicked out of the state and your property taken away if you were found to be Native American.
This is as close as my Uncle Tommy could research in regard to our Ancestral Lineage with Powhatan, it is his Great Grandmother's(Elmyra Henson) brother Powhatan Henson (Amherst County Virginia 1850 Federal Census) and the (Native American - Dawes Roll Index, Cherokee By Blood).

Powhatan Henson's parents were John Henson 1797-1870 AFT and Mary Ann (Redmond) Henson 1803-1870 AFT. They were married in Amherst County Virginia on September 26, 1821. I am self-taught in acrylic painting, web designing and graphic illustrating. The only artistic training I've had was in high school. Just give me a book and I can pretty much figure out most things. I enjoy a challenge. I've been an artist for over 20 years. It is a big part of who I am.
I love computers and how they work. I am in college at present finishing up my Programming Degree.
I have been taking Taekwondo for about 2 years. I am presently a Red belt in Taekwondo. I have entered a couple of Tournaments and won 3rd place in sparing and forms.
