HORIZON FALLS SHORT AT COMEBACK, LOSES FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 5 GAMES
A hot summer night brought out fierce tempers between two of the twin ponds novice C divisions elite teams. The PAXTANG GRILLERS would look to be in control of this game, starting off the third period leading 4-0. However, 1:18 into the third period Derek Weikel ripped a slapshot that found the back of the twine. "I was just shooting it on net," horizon's penalty minute leader said, "you miss 100% of the shots you don't take." With the game now at 4-1, Horizon members who played last season talked of a prior game, against this very same team (who was then called the Kings). Horizon was losing the game, 6 - 1, and goalie Dennis Daugherty had left the game with a neck injury. Without a proper goalie, the Horizon squad made a spectatular comeback, eventually winning the game 9-8. Hopes of a comeback this night were about put out to pasture when the Grillers converted at 3:17, putting them up by 4. This would prove to be the game winning goal. Even with two goals from superstar Brandon Reidy (one goal has to be mentioned: a beautiful shot from defenseman Mick Blanteno was deflected up into the net by Reidy) and one from Chad Boswer, the Horizon team couldn't put another goal past the Grillers goalie. A questionable bench minor for too many men on the ice was called at 14:08, and Derek Weikel recieved a 10 minute misconduct and a 2 minute unsportsmanlike penalty for yelling "shut the fuck up, fatass." Horizon ends the week 9-5-0, good for 18pts and 5th place in the twin ponds novice C division. Bottom-dwellers Team Rahal (3-10-1 7pts) are up on the schedule next week.
Notes: This was horizon's first loss in 5 games. Horizon only had 12 shots on goal compared to the Griller's 25. 32 penalty minutes were given out. Jason Adams returned from injury. Alternate Captian Chris Reynolds did not play for personal reasons. "fuck you, fatass' is now Horizon's offical slogan.

HORIZON ENTERTAINMENT WINS FOURTH STRAIGHT, SURVIVES SCARE
HORIZON faced the KNOWLEDGE PLANET squad for the second time this year and again, Horizon walks away the victors. Horizon would eventually lead 2-0 in this game before the K-planet scored to end the second period 2-1. Early in the third K-planet's number 23 Smetak tied the game up at 2. The Horizon squad was determined not to lose to the K-planet and at 5:58 of the third period Chris Reynolds would score off a one-time pass from Derek Weikel. Eric Bergel would add insult to injury as he snuck one past the K-Planet goalie to put Horizon up, 4-2. Next week the Horizon squad takes on the first place Paxtang Grillers (12-2-0|22pts)

HORIZON CONTINUES WINNING WAYS

HORIZON, paced by four goals from an energetic Matt Burd, handed the ice hawks their sixth loss of the season. The ice hawks, ovbiously frustrated, mustered only 17 shots on goal through the stingy HORIZON defense. Acting HORIZON captian Chris Reynolds engaged in verbal fistacuffs with members of the ice hawk team. When asked, "When's your NHL call up?" Chris responded with a left hook: "We'll get called up before you do!" Next week HORIZON faces the Knowledge Planet (3-8-1, 7pts).

HORIZON ENDS THE FIRST HALF OF THE SEASON 2 GAMES OVER .500 (6-4-0, 12 PTS)
With just 9 players in attendence, HORIZON held off the first place (8-2-0, 16 PTS) USUAL SUSPECTS, 5-2, in a hard fought physical affair. Getting into form early, Derek Weikel scored his third goal of the season off a two-on-one one-time pass from alternate captian Chris Reynolds at the 4:57 mark of the first period. The lead evaporated as #3 Matt Chubb of the USUAL SUSPECTS fired a shot past horizon goalie Dennis Daughorty just 29 seconds later. HORIZON would cap the scoring in the first with Chris Reynolds getting his first of two. The second period belonged to horizon, outshooting the suspects 15-12. Reynolds would also get his second goal, putting HORIZON up 3-1 entering the third. The suspects would pull within one goal just 24 into the third as Matt Chubb would get his second of the night. Leading scorer Brandon Reidy, spending the night unusually at defense, would score at 6:03 to solidify the win. Josh Damrauer would score one last time in the last minute of play, setting off the usual suspects as they attacked HORIZON players Josh Damrauer and Bill Allen in what almost turned into bench-clearing fistacuffs.
NOTES: The game was called with 21 seconds remaining. Several suspects players skated off without the customary handshake. Horizon Entertainment went 0 for 4 on the powerplay. Josh Damrauer now leads the team in PIM's with 16. Injured defenseman Jason Adams(1g,1pt) is expected to return next game. Adams has not played since the third game of the season. Horizon Entertainment hopes to add Free Agent Center Eric Bergel for the rest of the season. Bergel last played hockey for Bud Light and the Colonial Park Knights, where he was a solid contribution to their perfect 13-0-0 season. Horizon Entertainment ends the first half of the season with a 6-4-0 record, good for 12 points and fifth place in the Novice C Division. The Hot Shots loom on the horizon for next weeks game. The Hot Shots sport a not-so-hot 2-7-1 record, and currently sit in the basement of the Novice C Division with 5 points.
MARCH 30, 2005 HORIZON ENTERTAINMENT vs KNOWLEDGE PLANET:
HORIZON ENTERTAINMENT STARTS OFF THE 2005 SUMMER SEASON ON A 2-0-0 RUN.
Fueled by goals by Jason Adams, Matt Burd, Brandon Reidy, and two by Derek Weikel, HORIZON ENTERTAINMENT easily handled the KNOWLEDGE PLANET squad Thursday night at Twin Ponds East. KNOWLEDGE got on the board first, with #99 Kleinschmidt getting a fluke goal by HORIZON goalie Dennis Daughorty at the 2:35 mark of the first period. However, HORIZON would then score three unanswered goals to go up by 2 at the end of the first period. KNOWLEDGE would draw within one goal at the 6:30 mark of the second but a Jason Adams wrist shot from the blue line at 12:28 ended any chances of a KNOWLEDGE planet come back. Derek Weikel would put HORIZON up by three for good in the third period, finding the back of the net for the second time. HORIZON ENTERTAINMENT will be looking for their third straight win Tuesday, April 5th, against the PAXTANG GRILLERS.
