ECM:Correct me if I'm wrong but "Mindseek" is the first album and do you play on it?and how can someone purchase it? |

Fena:That's right,"Mindseek is the first album of Darkemist,although,a couple of years agothe band had another name:HATE.With that name and no keyboards they recorded a demo"Black Blood".Last year,when the guys wanted to add a keyboard sound and then I got into the band,all tracks for"Mindseek"were recorded already,so this album will be listened without keyboards,only I play the songs in shows.
The album is not yet forsale,but we are trying to find some record company to make easier the distribution. |

ECM:Who are your main influences and what got you to playing keyboards? |

Fena:When I was 10,I had keyboard classes,by parent choice,so I wasn't much disciplined!In spite of I didn't hate it,just went there for a year,then I quit.Now,you haven't idea how much I'm sorry about...A couple of years ago,when I started to listen to music like doom or black,I discovered a new horizon in metal,because not only riffs can make a powerful but beautiful song.I llove the atmospheres and infinity of sounds you can get out of a keyboard.Bands like Arcturus,Dimmu Borgir,Emperor,
Old Man's Child,My Dying Bride or Moonspell brought to me a new depth to bring out on keyboards.Then I became a little obsessed to have one,till a year ago I got mine.
Also I love to listen to Devil Doll,Wongraven(The project of Satyr),Neptune Towers(of Fenriz),Aghast,Summoning and all that kind of mysterious and disturbing sounds.Maybe they aren't direct influences when I play in Darkemist,but I learn about their music. |

ECM:Whats in store for the near future of Darkemist? |

Fena:Our near future is to get the album out and keep playing live.The album it's been taking along time,but that's a bit common here,you know,by money troubles,find some record,etc.However,"Mindseek"is almost ready to be available.In the mean time
We'll be playing in some night clubs and another fest,between the months of July and August.We only been playing in Santiago but we would like to play other cities too,cause metal family is big north and south of Chile too,Also we will take another photo session of us,to show the new line up and to upload the website. |

Fena:Well Darkemist has been adapting to all changes during the last months,That's why I think on my arrival and now with Pablo as a new member we been working on getting better cohension with each other,while"Mindseek"it's still finished,by the way were gonna keep running our new songs.
