Skapto
Among AUBG students, Skaptopara Residence Hall is known as a heaven for nerds, losers, sworn non-smokers and otherwise boring people. It is also the home of Jill Rasmussen. We're here to break the conventions. Actually, we already did.
1) We frustrated Jill's idea of a study lounge. While some studying certainly did happen, it was a minor and much hated activity. In fact, during our studies there, only one question troubled our minds: Do we need a party permit for this? The answer was, no. Who would ever ca
ll a serious intellectual discussion a party? Even if there were twenty bottles of beer on the table... The ultimate study experience of Fall'2000 gave birth to the concept, if not the actual phrase "Все, коньяк и спать" and included the one-time occasion of Gohi sleeping in the corridor.2) We seriously undermined, to use a euphemism, Jill's concept of a non-smoking dorm. In fact, probably the only place that didn't witness smoking, was Jill's apartment. But you can never be sure with these Mormons, can you? So, smoking happened in the rooms, especially when Marija and Gohi lived there in summer. It happened in the fire exits on numerous parties, and in the lounges, on the parties where Victor wasn't present. Of course, Anna might remember the sight of Gohi staring at her American History notes at 5 a.m., smoking one cigarette after another. In the study lounge, of course.
3) We totally shattered Jill's cherished dream of an alcohol-free campus. We mentioned beer already. We did not mention that there was so
much of it and so often, that Jay affectionately referred to it as "битов алкохолизъм." Then there was wine, up to five liters at once for some eight people. And, of course, there was cognac. In fact, the Skapto tradition of an alcohol-friendly life was actually started by a family member. We will only hint at Victor's first day (night) in the brand new Skaptopara. And finally, one particular sight in the Skapto corridor can seriously damage Anna's puritan reputation. All Victor can say is, no one has ever been so happy to see him.
