Murphy

"... a pub with no beer."

As the only Irish pub in town, and in accordance with the centuries-long tradition of luck o'the Irish, it will be out of beer on two occasions. One is St. Patrick's Day. The other is whenever you have a desperate craving for a beer in Murphy.

Otherwise, Murphy is a lovely place. If you're OK with insufficient light and more than sufficient smoke, you'll get to enjoy a pleasantly relaxed atmosphere, beer (if not Irish, then тъмно Столично), friendly bartenders who will check your regular appearance by their watches, and fast and efficient waitresses. OK, we pushed it here.

You can also enjoy (?) the sight of Margo and Gohi performing Latino dance. Of course, the question of what Latino music is doing in an Irish pub is a totally different one, and shall not be discussed here.

Generally, it is irrelevant whether you like the music. In a good company, you can provide your own music. Moldovan folk songs, for example. And, of course, Carlos Santana's "Maria" with alternative lyrics ("Of, Maria, Maria, da tu ai trei norme de sfecla") is an all-time favorite.

If you go to Murphy in a strictly female company, you may as well be treated beer. Be sure to leave the place before the guys decide to get acquainted. Murphy is not a place were you'll get wasted and have a hangover the day after. Usually, anyway.

Things to do after Murphy:

a) sleep;

b) go to Underground.
