Crescent Moon Book 1: Crescent Village
By: Shawn Jackson
Chapter 1-
Leah and Joey were brother and sister. As you can imagine they hated each other very much. They always fought and argued about sharing.
And now Leah hated Joey more because he was coming to middle school with her. Mom cant he go to a different school? Leah pleaded. No, Leah and thats final!
Middle school was hard with Joey there. He kept bugging her and her friends. Whos the weirdo? theyd ask. Im her brother! hed laugh. And they would snicker.
It was terrible! Everything was terrible if Joey was there.
One day, Leah came to school and went to her first class, Science. Mr. Henderson the science teacher got out a three test tubes. One, which had blue liquid, two, which had green, and three, which had orange.
He set them up and said. Today we are learning about the THREE LIQUIDS. You will each have a partner and you will make one substance with the three liquids.
Leah groaned. Joey was in Science with her. She bet that theyd be partners with her luck.
Leah you will be partners with Joey The rest was a blur. The two sighed heavily and went to Desk 1. Let me do all the work bone head. Youll probably mess something up! She got the test tube which had orange and put it into the empty tube. Then she put the blue liquid in. And last the green. It was the order of her favorite colors.
Then she got a mini spoon and stirred it together.
It bubbled and hissed. What did you do? Joey asked. It rumbled. Oh, so I will mess it up? he said rudely. It exploded. The substance splattered onto them and everything started spinning.
The world was now a blur and everything went black. Suddenly, it went to rainbow. And they saw that they were falling down a funnel. Whats happening? Leah screamed. I dont know but I know its your fault! Joey blamed her.
BAM!! They landed with a thud onto a hard surface. Great, now I have a bruise on my butt! Joey yelled. Could you be any more immature. Yeah!
Leah rolled her eyes. We need to find out where we are. Why? Joey asked stupidly.
Because we may be somewhere dangerous
I know this place is dangerous, said a raspy voice behind them. |
