A Tear for Melissa Fay's Birthday
User:Unknown

It is you, the victim of a senseless crime
慯hat has brought me here at this final time
writing words to fill this page
   because I see my mind
慙o longer is consumed by rage

On this first day of your thirty-seventh year
I do cry for you a single tear
慯hat's falling now from my eye
蟵nd caused by all my fear
慯o witness death and watch you die

I loath this day that is at least a decade long
and knowing now that you have truly gone
from here and from us one and all
has left us with a wrong
that caused this single tear to fall

Will you go to your place that is within His plan
while knowing what sadness we have at hand
to think of you as departed
absent of this world you ran
from the life that you and I had started

While you obey what is to be His final call
do you not know a single tear will fall
then run so slow, so ever slow
   蟵s I consider all
慯hat has brought me here, so very low

To part at death was never in our sacred vow
坟o Lisa tell; where you are now
that you have breathed your last
yet still you are right here somehow
     犲nstead of in our past

But still I shed for you this single lonesome tear
even if I know you are somehow right here
and though I cannot hope to see you
I feel you just so close and near
as the last breath I drew

Until again we meet I must stay true and strong
while ever knowing you are truly gone
I still see you standing tall and proud
watching as I write this, my last song
then you turn, go to your cloud

When we meet where tears of gladness freely pour
I will see your smiling face once more
not here on this world of ours
but we will meet on a shore
       䰄ut beyond the stars.
