Above is a picture of what a typical child with Edwards' Syndrome looks like.  Listed below are some congenital defects of Edwards' Syndrome:
* cleft lip
* cleft palate
* microcephaly, underdevelopment of brain
* micrognthia
* dolicocephaly - abnormal growth of scalp
* low set ears
* small jaw
* small mouth with narrow roof
* upturned nose
* low arches on all fingers with the axial triradius high
* cataract
* optic nerve coloboma
* strabismus
* severe scoliosis
* cerebral palsy
* congenital arthropgryposis
* fissures angled more downward
* large gyri, where three smaller gyri should be present
* small mandible
* hypertelorism in eyes
* progrnathism, abnormal face structure where one or both jawa bones project forward
* short palpebral fissures, opening between margins of eyelids
* drooping of upper eyelids
* overlapped flex fingers
* webbing of the second and third toes
* overlapping of fingers
* lack of landmarks on brain
* small brain, which can cause mild to severe mental retardation
