The unknown seed

LJA
It is a tender shoot now
I didn't even know the seed was there
tentative head lifting above the ground
When the first curling tendrils
yet still its stature is unknown
Unfurled within the shell
What plant it is yet to be:
Growing silently
The sturdy stalk of friendship
Gathering strength
Adorned with leaves and flowers
Unknown until the day
Of shared moments
When in surprise
Of laughter and tears
I felt the seed break open
Of work and play?
In the soil of my heart
And there you were Or something rarer
Roots moving inward Friendship still
Nourished by each moment But rooted deep
We spend together Dressed in evergreen colours
Each message, each word Yet flowering in blooms
Each hug, each smile fragrancing the air
We share Entwined in loving embrace
Until with caring's strength it Perennial splendour
Pierced the soils secret hold Of love made new again?
