Established a non-profit organization, Help Open Possibilities Encourage positive change (H.O.P.E.) to serve to strengthen communities through family values, responsibilities and support and encouraging the research of family history.

Established a personal consulting business directing individuals to accessible social services. Also promoting personal change and growth through facilitating motivational and inspirational workshops and in-service training presentations with other organizations.

Chaired the Oakland Parent Childcare Center Policy Council.

Developed and administered the policies concerning all curriculum, staffing and budgeting matters. Responsible for recruiting and hiring of staff. Convened and facilitated parent policy committees.

 

1987—1995 Executive Director, Women’s Service Organization and Youth Activity Organization affiliated with LDS Church.

Supervised volunteer staff providing education and service to meet the needs of women and children in Oakland. Provided one on one peer counseling, planned and organized events ranging from community service projects to various social gatherings. Supervised a program for monthly in-home visitations to over 50 families to assess their needs.
