Week 25

Week 25, only 15 weeks left! The countdown has begun!

The Baby:
Our baby may begin to respond to touch and sound. I can't wait for that!!! The baby is getting more and more active each day. A moving baby is a sign of a healthy baby. I feel the baby moving every day, although not all babies are equally active.
Our baby's brain begins to exhibit patterns similar to those found in a newborn, including storing rudimentary memory.
Our baby weighs about 1 lb. 10 oz. and has probably reached
12 inches from head to toe. The baby is becoming more
durable as the stem cells continue to develop into bone
tissue, and the bones become strengthened through a
process called ossification.

To support it's growing body, Baby's spine is getting stronger and more flexible. Although it hasn't put on much fat, it may be starting to look a little plumper.
Our baby's gastrointestinal system is beginning to produce meconium.
As baby floats in amniotic fluid, his eyes, sealed shut until now, begin to open and close. Because the retina is light sensitive, baby can see changes in light and dark. He will also turn toward your voice. Your baby looks less wrinkled as fat deposits accumulate, and his hair is growing longer.

Mom:
I have been feeling great!! Just the nightly trips to the bathroom that mess with my sleep and heartburn here and there.
We spend Labor day weekend at my parent's farm and had a wonderful time. My sister, Kimberly, was there too. Mom, Kim and I did LOTS of canning and baking, so I have my pantry and freezer stocked!
Charlie had fun shooting his BB Gun again and getting birds this time. He also had fun riding the bike that my cousin Jory gave to the Farm. It has gears and hand brakes, so that was an adjustment.
We are now back on a schedule, as school started last week. Charlie was NOT excited, but we are hopeful that once he makes some friends in his class, that he will like it more. His teacher is wonderful, a very nice woman!
We are enjoying the few nice days left of summer before colder weather comes, and with it....soon....this baby!
Thanks for all your replies to my last email with my 23 week photo, the compliments really made me smile and feel beautiful! Thank you!
