There are two things in our early life that tend to be almost the same all over the world; children and childhood. No doubt, children are at leisure part of the human race. They possess the time and energy. Physically, psychologically and socially they tend to use most - if not all- of their time and energy in playing and entraning themselves in their particular way.

I t is true that children's games have the same universal source. It is also true that in due course of time they acquire special characteristics typical of the environment they grow in. Eventually every type of these games would have acquired distinguishing traits closely related to a particular area. This of course applies to games in general, regardless of who plays them. Games played by bedouins are different from those performed by people of urban areas. We can also easily distinguish between sailors' pastime activities and those of people living ashore. In Bahrain, as a long - established place for a people with a fare-rooted tie to a stable civilization, phenomenon of stability and truthfulness has been evident all the time. Of course phenomena are those related to different national games and plays. Our emphasis here is on children and youth games though the grown ups have their own sort of games and pastimes. Children's games are more common and more prominent because they have and can afford the time for these games while grown ups games are more definite but less common.
