This is one of three giant insect kits put out by ERTL a few years ago. They were reissues of kits that were produced sometime in1975 by MPC under the Fundimentions label. Originally, there were four kits produced. The Giant Scorpian, (seen here), the giant Trantula, the giant Praying Mantis, and the giant Wasp. When they were re-issued the Wasp was left out due to problems with the mold for the clear platic wings that came with the kit. At least I think that was the problem.
