In July, 2002, I submitted the Hooker Picnic to KXRB, the Sioux Falls country music radio station, in hopes of winning one of their "Super Summer Barbeque" giveaways and WON!!  We all enjoyed the 100 pieces of Kentucky Fried Chicken, soda pop, paper plates and silverware that I purchased with the certificates that were included in the deal.  KXRB (1000 AM) does a great job advertising the picnic the week before.  They have been doing this for the past 3 years.

I also won a "Home Town Hero" award from KELO FM for the work I have done to keep the history of Hooker alive.  I was very honored by this award and thank all of you who are the ones that really make this possible.

A town map was reconstructed with pictures of old landmarks.  Click on "MAP" below to see a picture.  The small pictures are not real clear considering that most of the original pictures are very old, but it turned out to be a very interesting project.
