| Dear Momma Dear Momma, if the day should come when I no longer walk through your door Don't let your precious heart be burdened that I will be with you no more For I will never leave your side, I'll be there in good times and bad Remember all the laughter we shared, please Momma don't be sad. When you are lonely and long to feel the gentle touch of your son, I'll be next to you, stroking your hair just as I have always done When you kneel beside my grave and your fingers trace my name Know that I do not dwell there, but with you I will remain Although each day you face without seeing me brings you pain, Still each day is one day closer to when you'll see me again. Momma don't be angry with God, He didn't punish you or me For if it were not for His sweet love, our love could never be. I was a gift from Him like the wildflowers I picked from the lawn Some of the sweetest gifts don't last but the memory of them lives on A home in heaven is prepared for me but with you my spirit will stay I am always close by, so listen with your heart and you will hear me say: Dear Momma though I no longer walk through your door, I promise it'll get better, The day will come when you join me here and we will walk through God's door together.
