| The new index Art is inspired by the the Socio-Theosophical Structures that have been placed by Humankind in the form of Patriarchy,as well as little references to the local Architecture. It is no surprise that the world is in peril, as it has been for quite some time, but only in the context of our Area, does this impending "Event" truly hit home... For example: the rock formations at the right of "Him" is Casa Ricanada, which was an Anasazi Temple with a near-perfect east west alignment and like many "calenders" of the ancient and post-modern world, have crevices of sunlight that mark the Summer Solstice, June 21; which is an important day for just about every ethnicity in the family of Humanity. THe children staring in wonder/fear of this "Being" are 1960's era Boarding School Navajos(I reckon them to be in their early 50's now). THe fact is,that our parents' generation were the cusp of the Assimilation Process into the "Western Process of Deduction", and right now, we ARE completely Assimilated...Truth be told. Only by acknowleging this TRUTH will we, the younger generations of Dine(ages 18-27) be able to make our world right, in the eyes of our Creator. Is it no surprise that we now comprise an overwhelming majority of Navajos alive today? I ,for one, get goosebumps thinking about the possibilities...and yes, I'm actually being Optimistic! After all, A child stares defiantly at Him with a blowgun, unintimidated. Which brings us to the "Being" at center-stage: So sure of Himself, So full of his own Pride, His Creation, or should I say, His warping of a Creation... He is wearing an emblem associated with the Malevolent aspect of the Occult: an inverted Pentagram with a Head-less Cross pointing down...BUT, it is only the corporate emblem of TEXACO, a multi-national corporate entity turned topsy-turvy. The head of the "Being" is in the form of the Human Heart, which brings to mind metaphors found in Hopi Prophecy about a way of Human Deduction/ Rationalization where the "head would supercede the wisdom of the heart" or, in a sense warp the perpection of Human Existance or what we deem essential for Existance. THe punch-line of this piece is that, If this "Being" really does exist...It is in our hearts that He may be found, but if the heart is manipulated into a Head, then does it not cease to be a Heart? Or Should I say, Center of Being? |
