| On 12 May 2001, 6 members of the QK Honored Warrior's crew and three of our allies from House Veska particpated in the 3 mile America's Walk for Diabetes. With most of the money being raised by the ship's Security Officer, Lady K'Lyssia, the ship's total was over $200.00 for this worthy cause. The unofficial total for the event was over $10,000.00 raised to support diabetes research. A fun time was had by all those warriors who participated as we carried the House Veska banner on the 3 mile walk around Memorial Park in Colorado Springs. CO. We were greeted by the Terrans in charge of the event with respect and openly welcomed at our first charity event. The event officials even invited us to participate again next year. We were even invited to a "Captain's Table" at a local restraunt - in full costume. |
