A sage performed poojas and tapas by otward demonstrations to convince the people, that he is leading a pious life and whereas his mind was always engaged in thinking the sinful activities of a Dhasi who lived just opposite and whereas the Dhasi though committing sins bodily was very eager to live like the sage and repented for the sinful life led by her as there was no alternative.
On death the sage's pious body was dipped in holy waters perfumed and buried with honours but the sage's soul suffered Naraga. The sinful body of the Dhasi was given prey to wild animals by the enraged public due to the Dhasi's sinful deeds whereas her soul enjoyed Swargaboga.
Those who do acute bodily performances with self conceit ostentation arrogance to please God are not only giving trouble to their body tissues but also paining the God in their heart. |
