A judge awarding death sentences to a criminal charged with murder is not sinned over his award as he did so in the discharge of his duties without motive. The profit and loss of a firm did not affect seriously the manager of the firm as the fruits of his management go to the boss and as the manager has renunciated the fruits of his management in favour of his boss. A doctor is not so much frustrated over the condition of the patient treated by him to that effect of a relative of the patient.
The sufferings of the body affect to some extent the Athma and bind it with passion. But the paramathma is free from passion just as dew in a lotus leaf.
A criminal suffers the punishment of living in a jail in full. A Jail warden by living with the criminals in a jail complex suffers to some extent the punishment of confining to a jail complex though not as a punishment but as a duty to watch the criminals. So also the Athma suffers the pain and pleasures enjoyed by the body to some extent and is tied with the rope of passion. Paramathma supervises the activities of Athma just as a Jail Superintendent controlling the work of Jail Warden's without involvement of living within the Jail premises. |
