| Honey Bear Child Care Discipline Policy |
| 1. Honey Bear Child Care follows a talk it through policy concerning discipline. 2. When a conflict arises the teacher will step in, attend to the injured party first (assuming anyone is injured), then she will have the two children discuss what just happened. Having the children discuss the incident will most often resolve the conflict. 3. If a child is injured by another child an incident report will be written and filed. Both parents will be notified of the conflict. 4. If the inappropriate behavior is reoccurring over time (a week or more) the parent will be notified. 5. If the inappropriate behavior is or becomes violent toward any other child and is reoccurring, the child will be dismissed from Honey Bear Child Care. 6. Honey Bear Child Care does not use time-out. 7. If a child is having a tantrum, screaming or out of control, the teacher will have the child sit out until he/she is calm enough to discuss the situation. 8. Under no circumstances will any physical force ever be used on any child under care at Honey Bear Child Care. 9. The teachers at HBCC do not yell or scream at the children. 10. When a child is using inappropriate behavior a teacher may use a stern voice toward the child. 11. A follow-up to correcting a childs inappropriate behavior will be a kind word or a hug. |
