Elect Ellyn Honey CFA Director at Large

It�s all about the cats! Many of you have heard me say this time again from my judging ring. I really believe this and it says a lot about how I feel about CFA. We need to get back to this kind of thinking. In order to do this, CHANGE HAS TO COME to our beloved Cat Fancy. I will strive to accomplish this if elected, by listening to all sides of an issue before voting. I will also strive to accomplish this, if elected, by looking at the following issues:

Fundraising � We have people that are experts in fundraising. Let�s tap into their expertise. I will strive to look seriously at these people and their areas of expertise and bring their suggestions to the Board table for consideration.

Attracting New People � We have experts in the Fancy that are in all types of businesses that could act as a pool to attract new people to our hobby. This would in turn help to increase our registrations. I will strive to tap into this wealth of knowledge.

Negative discussions � when presenting the problems, we must also be ready to present the solutions. I will strive to bring these solutions to the Board table for discussion.

Anti-breeding Legislation � We need more people at the grass roots level. Can we localize our efforts by grass roots committees? Can we get more representation from our Clubs in helping the fight? I will strive to bring these ideas to the Board table for consideration.

Reducing Expenses � New Show Formats which reduce club expenses and increase participation. I will strive to bring new show formats to the Board Table for consideration and to represent all Clubs that wish to work with new formats. People are already working on reducing expenses in CFA CO at the committee level, and with a fresh set of eyes I may be able to see more and different avenues for cost savings.

International and Asian Divisons � I will strive to help continue to develop the International and Asian Divisions to become a self-sustaining part of CFA.

ANIMAL HEALTH AND WELFARE � continue to support all efforts for research into diseases, feline husbandry and cattery management.

• Masters from Georgetown � Legal Studies
• Workers Compensation Director for Large Defense Contractor with 36,000 employees. I designed and implemented the Workers Compensation program. In this position I have to make tough decisions every day. I have an open mind, am a good listener and conduct myself with honesty and integrity.

• CFA Breeder and Exhibitor since 1982 under the cattery names of Rifkees and Myrlyn.
• Member of Siamese, Oriental, Colorpoint Shorthair and Tonkinese Breed Councils.
• CFA Allbreed Judge.
• Former member of the Judging Committee, serving as a Training Administrator.
• Design and implemented the Judges� Mentor Program.
• Design and implemented the Siamese Breed Council Awards that are now used as a model for all other Breed Council awards.
• Member of 4 CFA Clubs, serving in all club and show management positions.
