Hondle Strip Archive
Hondle started off as a minicomic booklet that I would draw on a single piece of A4 paper, then scan and email to friends and family. Then, when I quit University and started Written Words, I continued the strip online - for a while, at least.

These strips are presented below, for your enjoyment.

You'll also find a brand new strip, drawn in honour of this brand-new site. I think I may have channeled the story from somewhere else: if you know where,
mail me.
Hondle
The original strip. Marvel at just how far I've come in ten short months. Stop laughing at the back. The other character is Rudy, created to promote a Hulme Hall Orchestra concert in Christmas 1995.

Number Two
A true story, which appears in a slightly different form in the main comic. Not for the squeamish.

The Perils of Egghead Joe

Hondle doesn't appear in this, but I thought I'd throw it in for completeness' sake. A personal story, this one, written during the Unpleasantness of June 2001.

Everyone's a Comedian

The Worst Joke Ever Told by a Dog. By a country mile.

Train of Thought
When I started the strip, I thought I might set it in the town of Hondleford, and populate it with all sorts of cartoon animals. Funny how things turn out, eh?

Hondle - In COLOUR!
An idle thought: to try drawing the strip on the PC, without having to mess around with scanners and what have you. It worked quite well, I thought. Don't know why I never did it again. My Mum has the penultimate panel hanging up in the kitchen. She says that Hondle keeps licking her neck. I say that she should lay off the Zantac.

Booze Hound
I like silly puns. Obviously.

Chomp!
When I appear in the Hondle comic, it's usually as my right hand: holding a biscuit, stroking Hondle, and so on. I always draw my hand with a large scar on the back. In real life, the scar is only a centimetre long. This strip tells you how I got it...

Ce N'est Pas Un Plug
A preview of the main comic, drawn just before Christmas 2001.

A Watched Can Never Opens

A second preview strip. Note the advertised completion date for the main comic: Mid-February, 2002. I should have been a cowboy builder. Nah. I don't have the bum cleavage for it. Quiet at the back...

Hondle in the House
Not what you're probably thinking. I drew this on a paper towel while at my Mum's hospital bedside. No real narrative, but jolly enough.

The Story I Probably Nicked
But I don't know where from. Drawn in a hurry, and especially for this site. Enjoy.

Stargazer
A nice short Hondle comic, over at the WaterCooler Comix website.

Dreaming a Dream
Another nice short. The three K's.

A Happy Hondle Birthday
Today - November 5th 2002 - is Hondle's
Twenty-Fifth birthday. Celebrate with us, here.

Hondle - The Legend Begins!
A preview of the sequel to last years novella. With apologies to a certain cult television show...
