My Baby's Gone!
That's right, she is now in the hands of another. I suppose the only bright side is that the person I sold it to will not have his driver's license until next spring, so I can have some time to let go and (sigh) move on.
She was my dream car when it first came out in the fall of '87 and I was ecstatic when I scooped her up in December of '94. She was my baby, my pride and joy for so many years. There was nothing that I wouldn't do to keep her in top shape. So why did I sell? I have a beautiful daughter now and plans for another child soon, so it's time for a backseat. . Nope, I have HUGE plans for my new 2000 Civic SiR (that's the Canadian verison of the US Si), including a GroundDesigns hood and Tsunami bumper. Possibly even a Vortech high-output supercharger. This thing will be the wildest looking Honda in town. But oh, how I will miss my baby. So many years of toil and polish, oil and wax, tears and joy. It will be the hardest thing to watch another piloting her down the highway, but as they say...all good things must come to an end.
The town I live in is so small, this CRX is probably one of the best known vehicles to both the public and law enforcement. It is so well known, the local officers knew when I had painted her another color just by looking at the plate (ITFLYZ). So, when I made my fateful decision (with my wife's approval, of course) to sell, somehow I just knew that getting a buyer would not be all that difficult. As a matter of fact, I decided on a Saturday night to sell and Sunday the For Sale sign went in the windsheild. Monday I had an employee of mine in the bank to see about a loan (it declined) but had another interested party Tuesday. An ad was in Wednesday's paper which brought yet more calls. Yes, finding a buyer would be the easy part, it would be selling her that was hard.
