All about me...

Hi, thanks for stopping in!
My name is Rochelle Marie
Neimann. I'm 21 years old and
currently live in Portland,
Oregon.

I have been racing motocross for about 5 years now. I started out on a 1990 XR80 when I was 15 and soon began racing a 1996 CR80 Expert. About a year later, I made the switch to a 1998 YZ125 and have been on Yamaha's ever since.

My current race bike is a 2001 YZ125. I race locally all over Oregon and Washington and have been racing the AMA/WML national circuit for the past 5 years. My first national was Washougal (1998). Over the course of the past 3 years, I have competed in 3 of the 6 women's nationals (Glen Helen, Hangtown, and Washougal), earning myself the an amateur ranking of 6 (1999) and a ranking of 17 in the women's professional class in my rookie year (2000).

One obstacle that I face continuously is diabetes. I have been diabetic for 16 years-- a challenge to both my racing as well as my every-day life. In addition to running 4.5 miles per day and following a pretty strict a diet in order to maintain both my diabetes and racing, I am also a full-time senior attending Portland State University on an academic scholarship and a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies. WooHoo, I'm almost done!

For those of you who know me, you can confirm that the last few years have been pretty rough. 2 years ago, I managed to break my femur and my ankle (tib and fib) early in the year at a series race at Washougal, and my pelvis at the first national at Glen Helen the same year. It's been really difficult to come back, but I am determined to be ready for nationals this 2003 race season! See ya at the races!
