Install of a Power Socket

Cool, ok, above we have the power plug and socket. Power Plug can be split to make it in to a BMW style plug. As the plug sits currently it is ready to be plugged in to a cigarette lighter.

Above is the Power Plug in the Socket. Here u can see the plug has been split. The cover will just slip on/off to make it a BMW style or Cigarette style plug.

This is the Weather proof fuse holder I bought to hold the 5 amp fuse with. There is a spare 5 amp fuse next to the holder.

Here is all the items together, except the power cord. I just used some low cost 6amp power lead. You can pick up a roll of this from Kmart or the likes for about 6 bucks for about 20 miles of it ;-)

This is the Finsihed product after I finished putting it together. I put heat shrink tube around where the fuse holder joins to the power lead. These wires I soldered together. After I put heat shrink on, I then did 2 wraps of electrical tape. I do not want any moisture getting in to the join.

A close up of the Power Socket. Here you will see that I have give the power lead some stress relief …. Just incase.

Here is the socket mounted to the rear of my ride. I held it in place with a zip tie. Its quite firm and it will not move in a hurry. This saves me drilling holes. And should I ever decide to sell the bike (god forbid) I can remove it easily and install it on my next ride. Under the power socket is the breather hose from my Scottoiler.(That's the opaque tube under it)

Here you can see the entire show. U can see the power socket in the upper right. The powerlead follows the rear frame to the battery. If u look at the frame u can see the 3 zip ties that hold it in place. Just next to the power socket on the left is a grey box. That grey box is part of the Electronic Cruise Controll

Here u can see where I have the fuse holder for the power socket. This is looking from the right side of the bike down near the positive power terminal of the battery. The Red bottle with the tube, is the oil resivor for the Scottoiler.
