Seeking the Kingdom of God index2

We are raised in a world that teaches us to put career first, and our spiritual life later; but Jesus taught a different view. Jesus says that we should first seek the Kingdom of God, then all the things we need in life will be provided for us. He says that our Father in heaven knows what we need, and that our Father will take care of us. (See Matthew Ch 6 vs 32).

For those still unsure of a career for their lives; the first thing you could do, is to ask God in prayer, what career you should pursue. Give God your thoughts as to what you would like to do, and let Him guide you with His Holy Spirit; into the proper career. If you place all of your faith in God, then He will Bless you abundantly. Remember, our heavenly Father knows us better than we know ourselves. He will Bless you with the money you need and He will Bless you with a career, that you will actually enjoy. Trust in Him!

Jesus encourages us to seek the Kingdom of God, because He knows we will be Blessed, thereby. After Jesus was tempted in the desert, he says to us that the time is now fulfilled and the Kingdom of God is at hand. (See Mark Ch 1 vs 15). So Jesus is telling us that the Kingdom of God is happening now, as it is already at hand. So this being the case, why don't we see it around us? It is because the search for the Kingdom of God begins within us. Jesus says that the kingdom of God is within us. (See Luke Ch 17 Vs 21). In Luke, Jesus sends forth his disciples to tell the nations the good news, which is the gospel. Jesus tells them to tell others that the kingdom of God is nigh unto them. Evenso today, the kingdom of God is still close to us. This is the good news. He is instructing His disciples to tell others to seek the Kingdom of God within themselves, not to sit and wait on it to come, but that it is already here, if you but look within. (See Luke Ch 10 vs 9). The Pharisees ask Jesus when the kingdom will come, and He answers them by telling them that the kingdom of God is not an observation. Then Jesus points out to them that the Kingdom of God is within them. (See Luke Ch 17 vs 20). Jesus also makes the comment that some standing there with Him, will not taste of death, before some of them see the Kingdom of God. (See Luke Ch 9 vs 27). This gives us hope to see for ourselves, the Kingdom of God, in our lifetime; and hopefully we will be with Jesus in The Kingdom of God, many times, before His Kingdom is established on the new earth, forever!

In order to enter into The Kingdom of God, much tribulation will have to be endured. (See Acts Ch 14 vs 22). Paul says that in order for us to be a righteous token for God, and worthy of the Kingdom of God, that we must suffer. (See II Thessalonians Ch 1 vs 4 & 5). If we did not suffer in our lives, and all was well with us; we would have no need to seek the Kingdom of God. If we didn't need for any thing, and experienced perfect health, there would be no desire to seek out a better place. It is through suffering that we are brought closer to Jesus and His Kingdom. Paul says in Romans, that the suffering of our present time is nothing compared to the glory which shall be revealed in us. (See Romans Ch 8 vs 18). Paul refers to the glory within us. Just as the Kingdom of God is within us, so is the glory within us.

Jesus teaches us that we must enter the Kingdom of God, as a little child. (See Matthew Ch 18 vs 3). What is being said to us, is widely over-looked by most people. It is important that to understand what this means. We are told that we must be as children are in order to enter the Kingdom of God. The way to do this is by letting go and letting God. In short, we must be able to shed our ego. In todays' world, this is not an easy task. All of us put on our masks, in order to cope with different situations, throughout the day. These masks are our egos, but in no way are these masks, who we really are. You see, God has a plan for each and every one of us, and in His plan, He sees us for who we are. We understand who we are, in a clearer light, when we are alone, in the silence. Sharing time with God, during times of silence, is how we learn who Jesus is, as our personal friend; and we begin to see more of who we are, because of our relationship with Jesus.

How then do we shed our ego's? We must let Jesus fashion us into who we can become, through Him. (See Philippians Ch 3 vs 21). I can only advise you of how I am going about doing this, in my own life. Every evening, I look to God and I say, "Make these ears you have given me, to hear what you want me to hear, and not only what I think I should hear. Make these eyes you have given me, to see what you want me to see, and not only what I think they should see. Make my mind think what you want me to think, and don't allow me to lean on my own understanding, but on your understanding, God. Make me to feel what you want me to feel, and not what I think I should feel, in every situation. Thank you Jesus for hearing me and answering my prayer." In so doing this daily, I am slowly changing into what God has planned for me to become, and not what I think I should become. I can see my life changing because of this prayer. The Lord is good and all things are possible with God.
