The Review for The Pianist By: Son Pablo Renaldo ![]()
Music was his passion. Survival was his masterpiece. Yes this is the perfect line to describe the new critically acclaimed movie, The Pianist, starring Adrien Brody and Thomas Kretschmann. This movie takes place during World War 2 in Nazi Germany, where Paul the main character is abducted by Nazi's and thrown into a concentration camp. In the camp he is starved and forced to lower himself to cannibalism. A big plus of all you "Silence of the Lambs" fans.
Paul ends up escaping from his concentration camp and roams the wild German Outback where he is followed by a possessed Kangaroo who is trying to steal the last of Paul's money, a measly 50,000 dollars American. Paul treks all over Germany missing his beloved piano, he was conceived on this piano and it is a part of his soul that he dare not let go.
In order to get his piano back he has to assemble an army of squirrels and other various rodents to attack the concentration camp and rescue the piano from being tossed in a huge stove, which the workers at the camp affectionately named "Bessy."
Yes, the pianist will draw the attention of anyone who enjoyed such movies as Schlinder's List, Saving Private Ryan or any other great epic war movie. It is rated R and has strong violence and full frontal nudity. This is Son Pablo signing off and See you at the movies! |
