HHS, it�s not the largest school and not the smallest. Like most or
all co-ed schools, we have a caste system. It�s complicated, and one
kid, with one point of view, may not get it right, or even all of it. The
hardest part would be determining ones own caste. Be it the lowly
Skanks to the self-determined "cool" Preps. There are many in between, and I
probably don�t even know them all. Hence I try to keep it to only a few
groups.
Group #1:
SKANKS ~ This term gets thrown around quite liberally. But as I see it,
this group is pretty tight knit. They�re usually dirty� It appears that
they have no regard for personal appearance; you can spot one by their
greasy hair and dark clothes that are usually falling apart. The
majority of them are quick to insult people, but it�s generally all talk.
Take a few steps in there direction and they scurry away in fear. They
have there own ranks as well, from the depressed over-weight or ultra thin
and dirty, to the some-what clean that I call the "Drama Queens".
This so-called higher form of skank acts out life much like a soap
opera. When two of them start dating they usually only date for a time of
2 weeks or less, they break up for pathetic and laughable reasons such
as "they don�t spend enough of their time with me" or "I saw him look
at another girl/guy". Then the girls cry (even though they only went out
for 2 weeks) and the men fight to get them back, as if it was even
worth it. This all happens right under the higher castes noses. Though no
one really cares.
Note that the skank caste mingles somewhat with the next caste up.
Group #2:
Gang Banging Thugs ~ This is a varied caste, some of them are dirty like
the skanks, and others keep themselves pretty clean. But if you want to
spot them, look for the baggy clothing, the huge necklaces
(Bling-Bling), and the waists of their pants that are down to their knees. Favorite
music? It�s generally rap, but a lot of other people listen to rap
also. But these guys really get into it. Some are assholes, some are cool,
and some like to push younger kids around (who doesn�t?). Generally
they all think there a bunch of bad mutha fucka�s, which can make them
more or less irritating. Another note is that some of them try to speak
with "African American" slang. Generally this wouldn�t be a problem, but
since they�re all white, it�s amusing, well to me anyway. Like the
skanks they talk a lot of shit, but some don�t back it up. Though I know a
few that could probably deliver some entertaining fights.
Group #3:
Booze Hounds ~ These guys are generally bastards. Not all, but most
find any form of verbal or physical abuse hilarious despite how it affects
the abused. That isn�t very unusual, but they pretty much have a
collective IQ of 20 (if you don�t know if that�s good or bad, then I advise
you to be ashamed of yourself you pig.) This makes them think the
dumbest things can be funny, add alcohol to the mix and they can be
borderline retarded.
But if they don�t have a good time at your expense then their pretty
funny guys. They�re all usually looking for a good time. These guys
don�t just go to parties, they go to anyplace they can get free beer and
pot. Not like most who generally go to a few keggers for a fun time.
These guys go constantly, weekdays and weekends. They don�t really have a
chance a college, so they just have fun, waiting to graduated high
school and move on to menial low-paying jobs. I wouldn�t get on there bad
side; they seem to know the greatest insults and pranks.
Group #4:
Norms ~ these guys are the middle, not hated, not loved. They generally
form small groups of friends to hang out with, but they converse with
just about anyone besides a skank, and an arrogant prep. Here�s where I
classify myself and the others guys on the site. We are pretty much
norms, except for the fact that we�re all cynical bastards. This could be
a mutation in the norm caste. Possibly a more uncaring and cynical
caste. Maybe still in its baby stages. Anyway we hang out with just about
anyone. We don�t usually talk to skanks though, they tend to be too
childish, insulting, and uh� dirty.
Norms are usually accepted in several other castes, to talk and make
friends with them. This is one of the castes that generally branches
out, and makes it harder to discern them from other castes. From here on,
the castes seem to branch out a little more; they are not restricted to
talk to there own kind (skanks just seem to keep to there own kind).
Group #5:
Punk Rockers ~ These guys are pretty cool. They prefer dark clothing;
punk rock/heavy metal, anarchy signs, spiked/gelled curly dark hair and
these guys despise most preps. The main form of prep they despise is a
sect known as sheep, which I will explain farther on.
Some are pretty cool; others can be spiteful, want to get on their
good side? Don�t be a sheep, poser, skank, or prep. Also don�t wear
anarchy signs if you don�t know what anarchy is, or if you disagree with it.
Some of these guys have formed bands, most don�t last long, and they
seem to break up and start new ones with-in their caste quite often.
One upcoming band we will be supporting right here on the site. Though I
haven�t received the definite name of their band, they should know who
they are.
Group #6:
Preps ~ Yes the dreaded preps. They are a tight knit society. Here at OHHS
though, the definition is a little different then the actual meaning. Preps
wear the most expensive name-brand cloths, perfectly cut blond hair,
and they regularly tan. Many known to be arrogant and spiteful towards
the less fortunate and lower castes alike. They deem themselves the
"Cool" and they do whatever the next coolest fad involves. Want to find
them? Look for the big groups of thin or strong/toned guys with the hottest
girls. They wouldn�t be so bad, if most of them didn�t try to be "cool"
instead of being themselves. A new trend among the preps is the "Sheep"
sect. Not all of them are, but the sect is growing month by month. They
follow each other around like sheep. They don�t leave their massive
groups; if they did they might be confronted by a problem that would put
pressure on them. No these guys tackle problems together, and in there
numbers they are unchallenged. Like sheep they don�t seem to make
decisions for themselves, and just follow the rest of the herd.
That�s it. You may notice I didn�t tackle Nerds, Farmers, and Jocks.
Well nerds usually hang with the Skanks, Farmers range in different
castes, and Jocks also belong to Preps, Norms, and Punk Rockers.
Other groups I just generalized into other castes because they�re to
small.
Side Note: What about the poor you ask? Well no just because a person
is poor, it doesn�t make them a skank. I have met some pretty cool
people, and just because they�re not well to do, doesn�t make them any less
cool.
