What part does the client play in developing a site? I will need help in building your site. You will need to gather up any graphics such as photos, artwork, graphs and charts that you plan to use. We will need text and other data. If you live in the Blairsville area, we will sit down together and create a story board. The story board will show individual pages and how they link together. It is really quite fun!
How much does a web design cost? A custom home page is around $100. I can design you a site with three pages, text, links and photographs for around $300. Complicated sites with lots of multimedia cost more. Large sites can cost thousands of dollars. I will be glad to give you an estimate.
Are there other costs? You will probably want to purchase a domain name and hosting space from a provider like Netfirms. These name and hosting fees are around $125 a year and are usually charged to your credit card. You may also choose a free hosting plan if you meet the requirements.
How long does it take? Not long. I can get a three page Web site built and published to the Internet within a couple of weeks.
Can I hire you to work by the hour? Yes. I charge $20 an hour.
Why are your prices so low? I am charging introductory rates while I build my professional portfolio.
What will be my web site address? We will apply for a domain name such as: www.MyNameGoesHere.com. and buy one that is availiable. You can get free space and a free address for personal pages and billboards. An example of a free address is: www.geocities.com/MyNameGoesHere. All kinds of hosting plans are available online.
Will I own my site? Yes. You will have a password to access your files. You will own your site.
What is Flash? Flash is a Macromedia software program that brings a whole new dimension to the Web. It uses a timeline and layers to help create movies for Web pages. Flash supports imported video and sound files, too. Most browsers come equipped with a Flash player installed. You can download the latest Flash player for free at Macromedia. How much do you charge for making a Flash movie? $50 will get you a small custom animation. A custom movie like Birthday Card costs $200 up.

What about shopping carts and secure encrypted pages? I am learning about that right now!
Will you update my site once it is online? Yes. The cost depends on how many updates you need.
Will you teach me how do do my own updates? If you want to invest in the software, I can give you lessons. My fees depend on various factors.
