There's a lot of Homestuck characters, and they're all important.

The Kids In the beginning acts of Homestuck, we are introduced to four kids (left to right) - John Egbert, Rose Lalonde, Dave Strider, and Jade Harley. These thirteen-year-olds play Sburb with little knowledge of what will happen in the near future. They are also known as the Beta Kids, because they partake in the Beta session of Sburb. John Egbert - John thoroughly enjoys pranks, but he’s a very honest and straightforward individual. He can be a bit absent-minded however, and sometimes not think about later consequences. Chumhandle - ectoBiologist God Tier - Heir of Breath Land - Wind and Shade Dreamer Planet - Prospit Rose Lalonde - Rose likes knitting and Lovecraftian horrors, and is quite formal and articulate. Usually she plays coy to conceal her emotions, but once in a while she will succumb to them in a highly unpredictable manner. He can be very hotheaded as well, and likes drawing ironic, odd comics and preserving dead things in his room. If she’s driven to a certain point, she’ll snap, and is accepting of her surroundings, often acting on impulse. She favors nostalgic cartoons, nuclear physics, and advanced technology. They are (left to right) Jane Crocker, Jake English, Roxy Lalonde, and Dirk Strider. All four are just about sixteen, more or less, and end up having a very complicated game. Jane Crocker – Jane loves to bake and enjoys detective stories. She speaks politely, almost in a old-fashioned sort of way, and has a strong times revealing her feelings. She is also very skeptic about quite a lot. He very naïve as well, and often turns a conversation to be about him. This unfortunately causes dislike of him later on. Chumhandle - golgothasTerror God Tier - Page of Hope Land - Mounds and Xenon Dreamer Planet - Prospit Roxy Lalonde – Though alcoholic and casual, Roxy can be very sneaky and know more than you think. She loves wizards, and has a fondness for the alcohol her mother left behind. Tending to crack jokes often, she’s comfortable with talking about anything, even the weirdest things. Chumhandle - tipsyGnostalgic God Tier - Rogue of Void Land - Pyramids and Neon Dreamer Planet - Derse Dirk Strider - Dirk has a very cool demeanor, appearing as stoic but also caring about his friends and helping them excel. He’s good at many things, but mainly enjoys building robots, puppets, rapping, and being ironic. The Trolls Ah yes, the trolls. Their kind are nocturnal, aggressive, and war-like, but it is shown that this does not apply to everyone. Trolls can also be very caring and friendly, but tend to go about it in a more sarcastic manner. Troll romance is very confusing, involving four quadrants, buckets, and Imperial Drones. But I’ll leave that for someone else to explain. Trolls follow a caste system based on blood color on a hemospectrum. Their signs coincide with the twelve signs of the Zodiac as well. These twelve trolls play the Pre-Scratch session of Sgrub, a game similar to Sburb. They tend to “troll” the Beta Kids throughout their adventure, but also become very useful in the future. (from left to right) Aradia Megido – Before her death, Aradia liked archeology, roleplaying, and she was motivated to do something by knowing the fact that it was going to happen. Killed by Vriska, she appears to be fine with her death – that is, until she was granted a robot body. After god tier, she loses this quirk, and tends to talk more emotionally. (Simply Like This) God Tier - Sylph of Space Land - Rays and Frogs Dream Planet - Prospit Terezi Pyrope – Terezi’s attitude tends to change with whoever she’s talking to; however, she is mostly seen as civil, yet manipulative and sociopathic. She has interests in dragons, justice, and loves the color red. She also enjoys drawing her roleplaying adventures with chalk on her walls. She seems to have a fascination with luck, saying that bad things happen to her because she has terrible luck. Though her negative traits can be seen more prominently, she does have a softer side, often feeling guilt after her more violent actions. God Tier - Thief of Light Land - Maps and Treasure Dream Planet - Prospit Equius Zahhak – Equius is a very strange troll and has a great belief in the caste system. He is unusually strong, sweats quite a lot, and tends to creep people out with his mannerisms. Also, he builds his own robots, but mainly only to destroy them in his fits of rage. He is generally laidback and good-natured, but he holds a darker side held off by the toxic sopor slime he eats. He has interests in history, especially military leaders and conquerors, as well as magic though he states he “doesn’t believe in it”. He tends to have a taxing and overbearing nature, which eventually leads to the end of his relationships.
