Health
Currently, there is not a lot of professional knowledge known about the unique medical needs of rabbits. Because of that, finding an appropriate vet can sometimes be difficult. Many rabbit breeders and pet owners are able to treat minor problems at home themselves, fortunately. However, for emergencies, it is always good to have a rabbit-savvy veterinarian's number on hand.  Here are some emergency situations that call for an immediate trip to the vet:
"Hairballs"

Unconciousness
(completely unresponsive)

Seizures

Paralyzation

Uncontrollable bleeding
(once in a while you may slip and knick the "quick" in your rabbit's toenail while clipping the nails...this is not an emergency. See home treatments)

Injuries from a fight with another animal (anything more than a small scratch)

Poisoning

Electrocution
(it is IMPERITIVE to keep all electric cords out of your rabbit's reach!!! Plastic cord covers are available at most home improvement stores.)

Continuous diarrhea or Nasal discharge/sneezing

Large, open wounds

If your rabbit exhibits any of the above, please contact a vet right away! To locate rabbit vets in your area, please go here

Some of the more common illnesses seen amongst rabbits include (but are not limited to) the following:

Pasteurella *EXTREMELY CONTAGIOUS* (aka: "Snuffles")

Sore Hocks

Weepy Eye

Mites

Fleas

Coccidiosis

Wool Block (aka: "Hairballs")

Malocclusion (misallignment of teeth)
