| PAUCKER Juanita Boutwell has created Homeric Greek flashcards for the vocabulary. Download it from Pauker and follow the directions: Click on the Download link, then in the download page click on Pauker v1.7.2 That will take you to a list of "mirror" sites that you can download. Choose one in North America - and click the Download link next to it. That will download the Pauker program - its a Java thing - to your computer. Its called Pauker.jar. Run that - theres no installer, just the java program. If it doesn't run, you are missing the Java Runtime Environment - this page gives you links to download it. Then when you run Pauker, use the File:Open to open up the ShoderHorrigan1to32.xml.gmz file. There are two red bars at the top - those signify all the cards in the deck - They are bar graphs, red stands for "unlearned" - as words are learned new colors wil be added to the bar graph to show those that are learned and those that need review. Anyway, click on the red bar to see the list of cards. Click on the button that says "Learn new cards" to start working through them. One of the problems with this file, I just realized, is that Pauker re-orders it as you are learning words. So the words are not in there in the order I inputted them, which is in Chapter order. They are pretty random now. So maybe for people just starting out, its not so helpful. It looks like though it could be exported to CSV, then broken into small 'chapter' files, then re-imported. Or the CSV file could be re-ordered and re-imported. Which is all a pain, and maybe not worth doing. I wanted to use just one big file though, so that I could review all the words I was having trouble with, without opening each file. Juanita |
