Father's Midnight Prayer, January 1st 2008

Dear Most beloved Heavenly Father. . .

In attendance to the True Parents of Heaven, Earth, and Mankind, all assembled here are greeting this new morn of the New Year. We understand the ideal you wanted to see with your people living in happiness. But the sins committed by human beings brought instead darkness to your place since that day of the fall. By Satan your ideal was usurped.

Human beings would have been abandoned. But as a parent, you moved and worked toward that single day of restoration of the New Adam. So we have learned through the Divine Principle. The measure of all this misery was known to you and satan, to the two of you, alone. Before they could attain perfection, Adam and Eve lost True Love, True Life, and True Lineage. A new bud was to become the good history you have longed for. Instead, all these years you have suffered greatly in the midst of misery. Your children were lost. But we know of your efforts to reclaim them.

Now the Providential, Cheon-il Guk [Heaven's One Nation, or New Heaven and New Earth] 7th year of Jubilee of Joy and Happiness has passed, and we enter the 8th year of Cheon-il Guk [Heaven's One Nation]. That original world we have brought into fruition by those sons and daughters who serve you. They have endured all manner of complicated chaos that has existed, yet through the True Parents you have raised them. Now I have become the old man in his eighties before I could go through the course.

Upon the foundation of this past 7th year, this year of Jubilee, let all become like a blossom on the fruit of your effort. Let all of your True Love, True Life, and True Lineage become fruitful. I ask your forgiveness on this day. I know of the many longings and expectations you have had, I know the thorny way I had to go to liberate you. Let all the members of this family be committed to you freely in heart, now that the hidden bud of love has come to the surface. May your light of grace shine upon this earth and be fulfilled as you have always wished and desired.

In this time of Glory and Victory, let each of the blessed families stand tall, and before you, without any shadow of shame. Let everything you have worked for be accomplished with the pulse of Heaven and earth synchronizing as we move into the new 8th year of Cheon-il Guk [the New Heaven and New Earth] with oneness of heart. Let this victorious realm be able to spread forward into your ideal of the Kingdom of Heaven on earth, that you may love and commune with all creation, with Heaven and earth united as one. Let True Parents desire be fulfilled: the nation you have longed for, that nation without any contradiction.

Let all the members be mobilized to direct the plane of harmony, and form the road within the daylight, autonomously following the path. This son of yours is heading into his 90's, but in the heart of the descendants here, let your glory come down like a plane, 4 square, that the hearts of all the people here, today--we earnestly hope--may be as a single core, making a new beginning.

All these things we pray, fervently,
in the names of the True Parents.

Aju. Aju. Aju.

What is "AJU"?

"I will become the owner and I will do it!"

An explanation excerpted from a speech given by
Dr. Hyun-Jin Moon (son of Reverend Moon)

Global Peace Festival 2007 Speech
Quirino Grandstand, Manila , Philippines
December 12, 2007

... Before I can even talk about the dream, the biggest dream of all, we have to first start with a narrative because it starts somewhere many, many years ago. As I look at the audience, I see a lot of young people.

There was a young man at a tender age of 15, that went up into the hills behind his home in North Korea on a cold winter day, on Easter Sunday. He went there with a mind and heart to liberate the suffering heart of God. He was taught in Sunday school that God is an almighty God, an all-powerful God, an omni-potent God. But he knew differently, looking at the human condition--for he live at a time when he saw one travesty after another being committed, one man against another. He lived in a nation at a time when it was dominated by another nation. He lived at a time when, in his own country, he could not even speak his own language and could not express his own cultural traditions.

Yet, he had faith in humanity, he had faith in God, and with that spirit he went up in that hill, deep in prayer. And when he was praying, sweating, yearning to find a way in which he could liberate the heart of God. He received a revelation, God spoke to him, and then Jesus spoke to him, and all the saints and sages spoke to him. And they were saying that the way to liberate the suffering heart of God is to build one family under God, Aju!

Now the reason why God's heart was suffering was because, as a parent of all humankind, He had lost His family. He had lost the human family. God is a God of love, of peace, and of unity. Yet the history of humanity has been a history of hatred, war, bitterness, and conflict: a total anti-thesis of what God represents. Yet, God had absolute faith, love, and devotion for humanity. He believe that eventually all humanity, who stood in the position of lost sons and daughters, will come to him and rejoice with him and celebrate with him.

Towards creating this eternal family, there have been many saints and sages, men of God throughout the ages and histories; founders of great religions that taught the fundamental message, the key universal message of true love, living for the sake of others and building a community of faith. Yet, overtime, that message got lost, got forgotten, and what came up was conflicting traditions and dogmatic points of view? We lost the fundamental core message of building one human family under God. We have to find love, a True love: I define love as "living for the sake others."

As for that young boy who made a promise on that hilltop that night, he made a promise to God on that hilltop on that easter Sunday: He pledged that he shall be the one that shares that peace to all humanity and plant this seed into the hearts of men by making them the owner of this dream. That young boy that went up to that hilltop on easter sunday was none other than my Father, the Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon. (Applause)

As you can see, there was a lot of seed-planting, planting the seeds of peace that was done in the many years that followed the promise that was made on that faithful night. The seeds that were planted were toiled with sweat, tears, and even blood, as he was faced with persecution, misunderstanding. Yet, standing true to that promise that was made on that night, with absolute faith, love, and obedience, he believed in the goodness in humanity and the possibility that this dream can be realized. He overcame all those mountains. And today, as the son of this man who made that promise, I am here to say "That dream is alive!" Not in one generation, but in the next, and that dream is alive as we plant the seeds of peace in the hearts of all that are gathered here!

First, it starts with a dream, and today we are here to dream the biggest dream of all. For if we are committed, if we are determined, if we make our pledge and our promise--just like that or the young farm boy that was made many years ago--here today in Manila, in the year of 2007, with the numbers that are gathered here; then, that dream will be multiplied, and it can spread across the world fostering a new age as we enter the era of 2008. . .

It is fitting that we are here in the Philippines on this last of the World Peace Festivals in 2007--that we are gathered here to launch the beginning of Global Peace Festivals 2008. For this might be the end of 1 year, but it means the beginning of a whole new year. But this era of 2008 is not just 1 year in waiting, it represents the beginning of a new history: with you, gathered here having the vision and the dream of building one family under God deeply in your hearts, as young people, looking forward into the future.

A new covenant has been written, a new promise has been made that will carry on the hope of humanity in building one family under God, Aju! Let's say it again: One Family under God, Aju!・ Let's say it again, One Family under God, Aju!・ That is what I'm talking about. Amen? (Amen). Amen? (Amen). Aju? (Aju).

Now what is Aju? My goodness, what is Aju? We got this crowd steered up saying Aju, Aju. But I don't think they even know what that means! What Aju means is that, "I will do it" ・ It's a Korean word. It starts with A and J and U, AJU. I's not AeJU, it is AhJU. (AJU).

Now what Aju means, in Korean, is that, "I will become the owner and I will do it!" ・ So what a fitting exclamation point, what can be a more filial exclamation point than the word AJU?

So when we say, "One family under God ・ AJU!"--we are really saying, "One Family under God ・ is my dream and I will do it!" Yes or no? (Yes!) Yes or no? (Yes!) Yes or no? (Yes). Hoooo.. It's Providential! and we haven't even started yet. . . .
