Personal reflections on the Motto for 2006
The official translation of the Motto is:
The Era of the Completed Settlement of
the Model Providence for the Ideal of Peace in Heaven and on Earth
The actual Chinese Character and Hangul characters may be translated as follows:
Cheon-Ju (Heaven-Earth, or Cosmic)
Pyeong-Hwa (Peace)
Isang (Ideal)
Model ("모 델")
Seob-ri (Providence)
Anchak (Settlement/Completion)
Shi-dae (generation/age/era)

To get at a deeper understanding of this motto; personally, I would divide these pictograms and concepts down the center; after the word, "model"--thus rendering:
1) Cosmic Peace Ideal Model
2) Providence Completion Generation
And as we often find the more reasonable translation by going from the end to the beginning; we might consider:
Generation (era/age) Completing the Providence
Model Ideal Peace Heaven and Earth
Personally, I do not think that the word "model" is modifying the word "providence" (as the 'official' translation seems to suggest).
Instead, I think the "model" is--like Jacob's course--mirroring the concept of the Three Blessings; from the individual to the family, society, nation, and world...
The model for cosmic peace (is/in, or: is now established in this)
The generation for the completion of the providence. (?)
In Father's Midnight prayer, he talks about how 'The model for establishing the ideal of peace on earth and in Heaven' has been accomplished through the victory of his resent 120-nation tour.
He also talks about bequeathing that victorious 'model' to the Blessed Families, and praying that God will allow these families [in this generation] to fulfill the hope of God's providence.
Note how Father introduces the idea of "the model" -- just before he wrote the caligraphy:

... "Until the end of last year, I have accomplished the necessary foundation. So the whole universe has to be offered to you. From today, the Cross-cultural Blessed Couples can be connected to all the Blessed Families--so that all the enemy nations can be united, so that there can be no enemies in the world. The mind and body, parent and child, brothers, nations, and world can be completed to God's standard--establishing the True Model for the Nation.
"As the true model for Adam's family, from the individual level to the world-level--True Parents were victorious in the 120 nations. So in this 6th year of Cheon-il Guk, we anticipate that three years remain until the world can be set free. All the accomplishments of True Parents' absolute faith, absolute love, and absolute obedience--the standard of even going over death; as all Blessed families can unite with God, as one lineage, and unite with True Parents: let all inherit the same value True Parents have established in this 6th year of Cheon-il Guk, let all the power generated and reserved through these conditions be given to the Blessed Families.
"May they be given permission to be representatives of True Parents so that all can be controlled under you. One thousand years under you. So all nations can be liberated. All the indemnity and history could be advanced so that these families might be representatives and be the lineage that can inherit your heart, so that all the life styles can be united under your heart...
"We are giving everything, Heavenly Father, so that all can be your people. Please receive this prayer and grant your blessing and grace so that everything can be worked out accordingly.
"All of the above I report and proclaim, Amen"

Therefore, given the feeling of the midnight prayer, and the skeleton of the pictograms presented in the motto caligraphy; I would submit the following interpretation as 'one' notion of the internal meaning to what was written:
*** Let this generation fulfill the providence
through propagating the Model for establishing
the ideal of Peace on earth and in Heaven. ***
Fitting in the Chinese and Hangul Characters:
*** Let this generation (Shi-dae) fulfill (Anchak)
the providence (Seob-ri) through propagating
the Model (모델) for establishing the ideal (Isang)
of Peace (Pyeong-hwa) on earth (Ju) and in Heaven (Cheong). ***
Note that if you read the characters (in parentheses) from the bottom of the above translation, back to the top, you will have almost the exact order of what was actually written after the Midnight prayer.
