U.S. Syria raid killed 80
By Richard Sale -- UPI Intelligence Correspondent -- 07/17/03 (Washington Times)
Depicted by the Pentagon as a mere border skirmish, the June 18 strike into Syria by U.S. military forces was, in fact, based on mistaken intelligence and penetrated more than 25 miles into that country, causing numerous Syrian casualties, several serving and former administration officials said.

The Unicycle of Evil and Poppy's Bomb
By Greg Palast -- 07/18/03
... While Tony Blair thumped his chest and told congress, "We promised Iraq democratic government - we will deliver it," the ticker-tape at the bottom of the TV screen said that our appointed chieftain in Iraq, Paul Bremer III, had announced that there would be no elections in Iraq - not until next year, or later.
... Then it was our President's turn. He used the phrase "free Iraq" about half a dozen times. We know Iraq is free because Mr. Bush explained, he has just appointed Iraq's "governing council." The puppet show, our president told us gleefully, "is now meeting regularly." What about -- dare I mention the word -- ELECTIONS? To ask during a presidential press conference about the possibility that Iraqis be allowed to vote is considered as appropriate as passing wind at a debutante ball. "Democracy," Mr. Bush wagged his finger, "will take time to create."

a report from Rev. Michael Jenkins (7/12/2003)
http://www.familyfed.org/usa/
... Mr. Arnaud de Borchgrave, Editor at Large, United Press International, having covered the Middle East for over 50 years was very frank. Though he has been an outstanding journalist and leading conservative thinker, he stated that America's approach to the Arab/ Moslem world is flawed. 83 percent of young men in Pakistan believe that Osama Bin Laden is a freedom fighter. America must understand this or it will be misleading itself to believe that we are solving the problems in the Middle East through our "liberation" effort.
... He firmly stated that he opposed the war in Iraq because it wasn't dealing with the real problem the reality in the Moslem world and the Moslem views. He proposed that the only real option is total normalization between Palestine and Israel, total openness and a return to a form of the pre 1967 arrangements of territory. He stated the settlements will never be removed as it was Prime Minister Sharon who was their chief proponent. Removing some of the settlements is symbolic. His commentary set the committee on fire...

UNICEF claims 200,000 children have been forced into bonded labor in the Ivory Coast region, not just in cocoa fields but in a number of occupations ranging from domestic help to prostitution. The group has urged the West African countries to halt cross-border trafficking in children, producing a recent agreement between Ivory Coast and Mali.

Back to Africa, in General:
Appeal: For African Brothers and Sisters...
by Jean-Pierre Laurent -- June 2003
. . . Dear brothers and sisters
. . . As l do regularly on our list , l am asking anyone of you if he or she would be interrested to help an African blessed family to start a business in
order to survive or even take steps toward a good start in life. l know the situation of many families who dont know what they are going to eat tomorrow; everyday is just a matter of survival. My plan is to find another family
to help them create a small business for them to live on, and hopefully expand.
This is a matter of $200 or $300 -- l do not ask for a long-term support over years; but some money given only once. l am asking--on the other side--for a clear plan of how they want to build up their business.
. . . l know these families personaly, and know also that they are serious and
dedicated brothers and sisters.
. . . If anyone is interested, he or she can contact me privatly; and according to your wish, l can bring you in contact with the other family (email adress) or can be a mediator between both sides.
. . . I am sure it will be a very rich experience spiritualy for both sides and
our world family will come a little closer.
. . . Thanks in advance.

History And Geography Of Abaco And The Bahamas
Abaco Guide dot Net
... Columbus was impressed by their friendliness and carefree way of life, he described them as, an affectionate people ...without covetousness. He went on to certify to the King and Queen of Spain, There is no better people or land in the world. They love their neighbors as themselves ... [they] are always smiling... One could readily imagine him a present day visitor to Abaco when he wrote of the Arawaks, They are so ingenuous and free with all they have, that no one would believe it who has not seen it... Of anything they possess, if it be asked of them, they never say no; on the contrary, they invite you to share it and show as much love as if their hearts went with it...
... Spanish treasure seekers ruthlessly hunted down and carted off 40,000 of these peaceful, friendly, fun-loving Arawak men and women as slaves to work other prosperous territories in Cuba and Hispaniola, almost completely depopulating the Bahamas by 1513. [Columbus implicated, as well.] When Ponce de Leon visited these islands in 1514, he found no trace of the Arawaks.

The COMMUNIST-CAPITALIST ALLIANCE
By Dr. Harold Pease, Ph.D. -- Professor of History at Palo Verde College
... FAMED RUSSIAN REFUGEE DESCRIBES THE ALLIANCE
On June 30, 1975, Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn, the famed Russian author, lecturer, historian, intellectual, and recipient of a Nobel Prize, gave one of the most important addresses delivered in this country during the Twentieth Century. To a select and packed audience in the ballroom of the Washington Hilton, Solzhenitsyn advised his listeners of the existence of an amazing and mysterious alliance, "at first glance a strange one, a surprising one - but if you think about it, one which is well grounded and easy to understand. This is the alliance between our Communist leaders and your Capitalists." Solzhenitsyn explained that the alliance of which he spoke was not new. He said the great Capitalists of the United States assisted Lenin "in the first years of the Revolution," and that since then "we observe continuous and steady support by the businessmen of the West of the Soviet Communist leaders." (Congressional Record, 8, July, 1975, pp. 11951-11956).
... FIRST FIVE-YEAR PLAN BUILT WITH AMERICAN TECHNOLOGY
The Russian told those assembled that the Soviet economy is so clumsy and awkward that it will never overcome its own difficulties by itself. He charged that the enslaved Russian masses could have thrown off Communism several times had not Western assistance been poured into the USSR to sustain the Communist leadership. He pointed out that "the major construction projects in the initial five-year plan were built exclusively with American technology and materials. Even Stalin recognized that two- thirds of what was needed was obtained from the West. And if today the Soviet Union has powerful military and police forces ... used to crush our movement for freedom in the Soviet Union ... we have Western capital to thank for this also." (Ibid.)

THE CEREMONY OF THE DECLARATION OF GOD'S ETERNAL BLESSING
The Meaning of July 1, 1991 -- Seoul, Korea
. . . You must think about the position from which the original nature of heaven entered this world. Centering on the original nature, before that standard, the realm of Israel on the individual, family, tribal, racial and national level has been established. How anxious must Jacob have been until the moment he won over the archangel at the Ford of Jabbok and received the blessing of Heaven? You cannot imagine how amazing the moment was when the name of Israel was proclaimed on earth.
. . . You are not to defile the name of Israel. Not only the name of Israel, you are not to defile the lineage of Israel. The Israelite people did defile the lineage, and Christianity emerged as a clan centering on Jesus, but debased itself. Christianity, which was centered on Jesus as the king and parent representing Israel, was defiled.
