| Michael To Dai Yu May Also Be Target of TVB Ban |
| June 25, 1997 TVB has completely shut out Dicky Cheung Wai Kin for his unwillingness to participate in the sequel to Journey To The West (Sai Yau Gei). As for his friend Michael To Dai Yu due to his refusal to renew his contract with TVB also faces opposition from TVB. The three installments of Detective Investigation Files (Ying Si Jing Chup Dong Ong) have been pulled from the schedule by TVB and delayed indefinitely. TVB lifted the series in an obvious attempt to cool down To Dai yu's popularity. Apparently TVB is using "the ban" against the traitors under it's flag. To Dai Yu and Cheung Wai Kin have been friends for years. Nights ago Dai Yu ran into Cheung Wai Kin on the way home and both talked about the matter. Dai Yu said, "Kin Jai is someone who thinks things through . This time he must have calculated before making the decision. I will support him no matter what." "Working in Taiwan is good, perhaps Dicky Cheung Wai Kin not being a part of the second Journey To The West will be even better." On June 27th, Kenix Kwok Ho Ying and Michael To Dai Yu were guests on Pauline Yeung Bo Ling's radio program. Kwok Ho Ying also discovered the schedule change for the show. Kwok Ho Ying said,"Originally the series was scheduled for a summer release. Now, no one knows if the series will be seen or not, but reportedly the show is delayed to face ATV's Tin Cheung Dai Gau (Heaven Forever Earth Lasting)." |
