Dicky Cheung Wai Kin Signs with Rock Records
June 17, 1996

Dicky Cheung Wai Kin has singed for 2 years with Rock Records, which will help him release 4 Cantonese albums in Hong Kong.  Reporters asked him if he wants to re-enter the war of Hong Kong music scene, Cheung Wai Kin says his flame to ward music never really extinguished.  As for the salary , is it in the 8 digits?  He says it is only in the 7 figures, previously with Warner, he didn't talk about money, this time around with Rock he is talking both money and opportunities, as every singer has a price and this is protection for himself.  He feels that releasing Cantonese albums again is not for money, as he can easily make 7 figures just making a TV series in Taiwan.  Actually, all along he has the confidence to be better in the Hong Kong music scene, only then he was with Warner perhaps because he wasn't getting promoted enough, so he wasn't able to be at his best.  Cheung Wai Kin expresses during this period other record company has approached him with up to 3 times what Rock offered, but in the end he still went with Rock due to his belief that after joining them he would be able to develop his career to a new height.
