Dicky's Atlantic City Concert - Febuary 24,2002

I don't exactly remember everthing at the concert, but I'll try my best to tell you most of what happened. And these might not be the exact words of Dicky.

*As you read, you may read "Kathy: blah blah blah" which means I'm saying something*

I was just walking in the hall. It was kind of large and empty, since I was there early. I sat REALLY, REALLY close, in the third row!!! The concert was suppose to start at 2:00AM, but it started at 2:30AM, because some people was still toooo busy gambling.

Finally, the concert started. There was this whole intro. On Dicky's work, like his old movies, series, and albums. In the picture on the left, Dicky looked straite into my camera!!! Too bad it didn't turn out too clearly. His first song was in his, "I'm (Not) Dicky" Album, song number 13. Well, you'd think the crowd would go wild, because it's DICKY, but all they did was clap. I took soooooo many pictures that night, I bet he's thinking "Wah! Bing gwo saw lui jai hai ha bein ying come dow shurn ah?" ("Whoa! Who's that crazy girl taking all those pictures?").

Right after he sang his first song, he decided to talk to his audience. He said,"Ah kum yut yoa KUM dow yun gha. Dow jee lay day ley ngo gwa yin churng wui. Lay shurn ngo gwon Quak Yui le, ding Quan Dong Wah ah?" ("Wow, I have a pretty big audience today. Thank you so much for coming to my concert. Do you want me to talk in Mandarin or Cantonese?"). Then he started to say stuff in Mandarin. Afterwards he said, "Lay shurn ngo churng Fai kwa ah, man kwa ah, Quak Yui kwa ah, ding hai Quan Dong Wah Kwa ah?" ("Do you want me to sing fast songs, slow songs, Mandarin songs or Cantonese songs?") Afterwards he said that all the songs were already planned. Everyone started to laugh. I guess he use the same joke in "Dicky's Studio" Review. He also picked people out of the audience to play this game. I don't know what kinda game it really is, but I do know that who ever participates would get a free autofraphed CD. Kathy: Yep, there's that same funny joke :P

After the brief conversation, he said, "Ah, ye dow gy yeet gow bow." ("It's kind of hot in here.") "But yui, ngo mook saam leey." ("why don't I get a little undressed.") Dicky than took his jacket off and the leather vest he had on, reveiling.....his shiny, sequinced, shirt. but just as he was doing that, people in the audience went, "WOOOOOOOOO!!!" I guess they want to see him naked...LOL!!!

Later on, Dicky sang his "Journey to the West 1" themesong. During this song, there were a lot of female dancers on stage with him. Right after the song was over, Dicky laughed, "Dow jee...uhhhh...ye de pah sigh hai deh ha gow dancers!" ("Thanks for...uhhhh...all the dancers lying on the floor!!!"), because the female dancers dropped to the floor after the song was over. This guy that was sitting behind me shouted, "HO LANG AH!!!!!" ("SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!"). Dicky heard that guy from on stage and said, "Bing gwo ho lang ah?" ("Who's so beautiful?"). That guy said, "The dancers!" Dicky gave him this sarcastic and hurt look. I screamed and so did all the other girls in the audience, "Lay ah!!! Lay lang ah!!!" ("You are!!! You are beautiful!!!!!!") Dicky then said, "Ngo been dow lang ah?" ("Which part of me is beautiful?") I don't know what really happened for sure, but I think someone in the audience shouted, "Your butt" because Dicky screamed, "PAI GOO???!!!" ("BUTT???!!!") in a very shocking manner. Then he started to laugh.

While he was giggling on stage everyone in the audience started screaming, "Toa ah!!! Lay gwo toa lang ah!!!" ("Your head!!! Your head is the most beautiful part!!!"). Dicky got all choked up, started to rub his bald head with his hand, and said,"Hai ah. Ngo gwo tao JEN hai lang ah, ngmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..." ("Yes, my head is really beautiful, ngmmmmmmmmmm..."(ngmmmmm is a sound, kinda like humming)

At this point, Teresa Mak comes on stage. Dicky said, "Waaaah!!!!" as if he sau an angel. Then he joked, "Kum loi mo gein, fai jaw wo." ("Haven't seen you for a long time, you get fat.") Teresa went silent for a moment that she started to laugh. Dicky said, "Wo Yao Quing Hann." At the end of that song Dicky went backstage to change his clothes and take a rest.
